บ้านกรูด ^ ^

@ Baan Grood ^ ^

Can you imagine an unspoilt stretch of beach where you can walk with white powdery sand underfoot and barely see another soul. If you can you have just discovered Ban Kroot.

Ban Krut is spelt many ways including Ban Krud, Ban Krood, Ban Kruit, Baan Krud, Ban Grud, Ban Kroot and Baan Grood. In Thai it reads บ้านกรูด so we have stuck with Ban Krut which seems to be the most common!

Ban Kroot Information
Ban Kroot is typified by clean air, small fishing villages and among the most pleasant and enjoyable beaches anywhere in Thailand. On these pages you will find out how to book accommodation, find restaurants and see what attractions Ban Krut has to offer.

At night the ocean is dotted with small squid fishing boats, green lights illuminating the horizon. There is very little development along this coast from Ban Kroot to Bang Saphan and the resorts that are here are all low rise bungalow style. The beaches that stretch from Ban Kroot to Bang Saphan are all very quiet or even deserted.

Ban Krood Accommodation

Ban Kroot has plenty of accommodation with more than 20 resorts of varying from low budget to exclusive. Descriptions and online direct booking can be found in the Ban Kroot accommodation section.

Weather

The weather is generally favourable but the better months are from November to March which is sunny and warm, April to July when it is hot with some rain and August to October when the monsoon season is in full swing.

Ban Krud Geography
The coastline of Prachuab Khiri Khan province is typified by long clean beaches separated by outcrops, headlands and a few small river estuaries. Most of the coast from Hua Hin south to Bang Saphan Noi is rich with an abundance of flora and fauna. Many are unique to this area.
The economy of most of the province is based on fishing and agriculture. Prachuab hosts the largest pineapple growing regions in the north and seemingly endless coconut groves in the south. Inshore fishing for shrimp and squid is extensive in Prachuab. The province is also the home to deep sea fishing boats which mainly fish the central gulf area.
The start of Ao Ban Krut is marked by a large headland with a temple and a Golden Buddha. From this vantage point near the Golden Buddha you can get a panoramic view of the Ban Krut coastline.

The most convenient train is the Sprinter (special express train no. 43) which leaves from Bangkok Hua Lumpong railway station at 08:05, Hua Hin at 11:11, and arrives in Ban Krut at 12:47.
Several other trains stop as well in Ban Krut, but their travel time is considerably longer.

There is one Blue air-con bus, which goes to Ban Krut town daily.
It leaves at 12:30 from Bangkok southbound terminal. Go to ticket selling window no. 10. The final destination of this bus is Bang Saphan. It arrives in Ban Krut at approximately 6 PM.
In Ban Krut, you will normally find several sidecar motorcycle taxi’s at the railway station in the centre of the town. If none is available, you can call 087-0862847.

Of course all busses, which go to the deep south, will pass Ban Krut, but they will drop you off on Petkhasem road on the Ban Krut intersection. This is 10 km from the town.

From Petkhasem in southern direction, there are 2 exits to go to Ban Krut.

1) After KM375, just before a temple, go left and follow the road. After approx. 10 km’s you cross a railroad and soon you can see the sea in front of you. This exit is convenient to reach places which are located north of Tong Chai mountain or if you want to take a scenic route along the beach.

2) After KM382 go on the frontage road and take the first road on your left. You reach Ban Krut village after about 10 km’s near the station. This exit is convenient if you want to go to the village and for going to places south of Tong Chai mountain.
